[Back to Map] ICHER: Regulations

Homeschooling in Sweden is extremely restricted and is allowed only under exceptional circumstances (reasons based on religious or philosophical views do not qualify). In situations where parents apply for permission and homeschooling is allowed, it must be a “fully satisfactory alternative” to public school and homeschools may be inspected and supervised by authorized officials each year.

Please Note: Since homeschooling regulations change periodically and legal interpretations may vary, these data should be verified with legal counsel as well.
